Javier Vazquez Estipuñan AKA Jazzamoart (1951 - )

Born in Irapuato, Guanajuato on May 28th of 1951. He studied at the Academia de San Carlos in Mexico City. He started out as a painter in the streets of Mexico City until at age 20, he found a passion for Jazz. At this point he began working while listening to this music and his new style of painting evolved into what he works on today. He changed his signature to Jazzamoart as a tribute to his passions which are Jazz, amor (love) and art. His first exhibition was in 1985 at Galerie L'Espace Cardin in Paris. He has exhibited widely in Europe, Mexico and the United States ever since. Some of his most prestigious awards have been the Honorary Mention at the 1986 Rufino Tamayo Biennale, the first prize at the I Miami Biennale that same year, and his grand prize at the Salon de Bellas Artes in 1987. He has made several murals in Iztapalapa, Mexico City and Hollywood California.
