Jose Salazar (1926 - )
Mexican painter born on June 28, 1926 in Aguascalientes. He studied at the Academia La Esmeralda from 1953 to 1957 and also at the Instituto Nacional de Bellas Artes with a scholarship from 1954 too 1957. His work has been displayes in one-man-shows all over the world, including exhibitions in Galeria de San Carlos, Mexico City; J Henry Gallery, St Thomas Virgin Islands; B Lewin Galleries, Beverly Hills California; Casa de la Cultura, Aguascalientes Mexico; Center Art Gallery, New York; The Upstairs Gallery, New York; Gallery 93, Ottawa; Niagara Falls Museum, Canada; Bell Gallery, Greenwhich Connecticut; The Art and Sience Center, New Hampshire; Hung-Up Gallery, Sarasota, Florida; among others. His work is part of permanent collections of the Museum of Santa Barbara, California; Museo de Arte e Historia, Ciudad Juarez Chihuahua; Casa de la Cultura, Aguascalientes; and the Museum at Loyola University in Chicago. |
